Jan Chetna provides different types of training programmes for capacity building of women to build their capacity in order to ensure their economic and social empowerment. We form SHGs to collectivize women and encourage savings amongst members, we also play an important role in increasing participation of the members in various developmental activities of the village. Through SHGs, women are encouraged to participate in Gram Sabhas and engage in panchayat processes, and also raise their demands for various development-related needs and inclusion in entitlement-delivery. It also promotes income generation and capacity building for ownership of assets such as natural resources and their management. In total, 496 SHGs have been formed with 7022 SHG members. The total amount of savings has been INR 49,29,298 till date.
